Supply Chain Services Australia are independent consultants. We are not aligned with any suppliers of products or services, and are therefore able to offer completely objective advice to clients on their logistics and supply chain needs.
Our business operates under a clearly defined Code of Practice.

Brief History

The origins of Supply Chain Services Australia go back to 1997 when John Holmes founded DC Logistics, a Perth-based management consultancy practice specialising in logistics strategy and project management.

Steve MacPherson co-founded Supply Chain Services Australia in 2006, to provide professional services in supply chain and logistics to the Australian market. DC Logistics and Supply Chain Services Australia merged in 2008. Since then, we have performed hundreds of consultancy assignments for scores of clients, covering a broad spectrum of services and industry sectors

John Holmes
Executive Director

The first 15 years of John’s business career involved a number of accountancy roles, initially as an auditor with Price Waterhouse Coopers, and then as a management accountant with a food manufacturer. The next 15 years saw John in both project management and senior operational management roles, in the manufacturing sector. For the past 20 years, John Holmes has provided consultancy services, specialising in logistics and supply chain. John Holmes has very strong experience in the planning and development of new operational facilities, in logistics management, and in project management. John was awarded as the first WA life member of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia.

Avi Olender
Senior Consultant

With a background in industrial engineering, Avi Olender is a highly credentialed logistics consultant with significant Australian and international experience in designing and project managing new distribution centres and manufacturing facilities. Avi migrated to Australia from Israel in 2005, following a highly successful career as managing partner in a major logistics consultancy firm. Prior to joining Supply Chain Services Australia in 2011, Avi was Design & Construction Manager for a leading storage solutions provider, then project manager for Toyota WA for an award-winning brownfield distribution centre project. Avi has very strong experience in warehouse design, warehouse management systems (WMS), product slotting, Lean logistics, and project management.

Steve Macpherson
Co-founder

Steve MacPherson served in the Defence forces for 20 years, retiring as a senior military logistics officer to take up managerial positions in the private sector. Prior to co-founding Supply Chain Services Australia, Steve was operations manager for a major national retailer, general manager for a transportation services business, and CEO of a hardware wholesaler. Steve is a life member and former Chairman, National President and WA State President of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia. Steve MacPherson is a highly credentialed supply chain professional, and has very strong experience in supply chain strategy, inventory management, and logistics management.
