The origins of Supply Chain Services Australia go back to 1997 when John Holmes founded DC Logistics, a Perth-based management consultancy practice specialising in logistics strategy and project management.
Steve MacPherson co-founded Supply Chain Services Australia in 2006, to provide professional services in supply chain and logistics to the Australian market. DC Logistics and Supply Chain Services Australia merged in 2008. Since then, we have performed hundreds of consultancy assignments for scores of clients, covering a broad spectrum of services and industry sectors
Steve MacPherson served in the Defence forces for 20 years, retiring as a senior military logistics officer to take up managerial positions in the private sector. Prior to co-founding Supply Chain Services Australia, Steve was operations manager for a major national retailer, general manager for a transportation services business, and CEO of a hardware wholesaler. Steve is a life member and former Chairman, National President and WA State President of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia. Steve MacPherson is a highly credentialed supply chain professional, and has very strong experience in supply chain strategy, inventory management, and logistics management.

Jaco du Plessis,
Jaco du Plessis is a qualified Industrial Engineer, specialising in supply chain consulting. He has significant international experience in leading industrial optimisation projects across a range of industry sectors. He has been providing specialist consultancy services for the past 10 years; for the past 2 years based in Australia, and prior to that in South Africa. Jaco has consulted to such organisations as Unilever, DHL, Tigerbrands, Foodcorp, and Deyfin. Jaco’s key skills include: process engineering; supply chain diagnostics; supply chain optimisation; data mining; warehouse optimisation; and distribution network simulation, modelling & scenario planning.
David Bille is one of Australia’s most credentialed warehouse / distribution centre designers, with a successful career background with such organisations as – TNT Forklifts / Red Australia, BT Lift Trucks, Dematic, Dexion, Flexicon Australia, Schaefer Systems International, and APC Storage Solutions. David now provides consultancy services primarily focussed on – storage and handling equipment; warehouse operational design; and implementation project management. David has been involved in the design of over 50 industrial facilities across multiple industry sectors, including – grocery; manufacturing; 3PL; and automotive.
Glenn Woodcock is a highly experienced supply chain and logistics senior operational manager with 22 years successful track record in the resources sector with the following organisations – BHP, Woodside Energy, and Inpex. Glenn’s key skill areas include – senior logistics & supply chain heavy industry specialist; overseeing and delivering materials management (SAP) operations in Australia & overseas; identifying and implementing supply chain efficiencies (SAP); contract & risk management; leading large multi-disciplinary teams; and high customer service focus. Glenn now provides specialist consultancy services in supply chain & logistics capitalising on his extensive resources sector expertise.
Sue Findlay has provided specialist consulting services to SCSA clients for the past 10 years in the areas of – supply chain strategy; process improvement; procurement / contract management; tender bid management; and facilitation of training workshops. Sue has consulted to SCSA clients such as – South 32, Roy Hill, Woodside Energy, Venture Smart JV, BHP Iron Ore, BHP Nickel West, UGL / Downer JV and Freo Group. Prior to commencing her consultancy career, Sue was a Director in Dept of Treasury & Finance, responsible for the procurement of ICT solutions and services on a whole of government basis. Sue has also been a sessional lecturer at Curtin University teaching Masters subjects such as Business Performance, Strategic Procurement and Marketing Management.
Andrew Barnes has provided architectural drafting services for over 30 years in Australia and UK. His career includes roles with Public Works Department WA, Corey Jones Architects (UK), and as a contractor to T&Z Architects, JCY, Hassell and Woodhead. Andrew supports SCSA in the development of AutoCAD and REVIT documentation of industrial design projects, including recently on two large Defence sector projects – Land 121 and Land 4502.

The first 15 years of John’s business career involved a number of accountancy roles, initially as an auditor with Price Waterhouse Coopers, and then as a management accountant with a food manufacturer. The next 15 years saw John in both project management and senior operational management roles, in the manufacturing sector. For the past 20 years, John Holmes has provided consultancy services, specialising in logistics and supply chain. John Holmes has very strong experience in the planning and development of new operational facilities, in logistics management, and in project management. John was awarded as the first WA life member of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia.
