Brief History

The origins of Supply Chain Services Australia go back to 1997 when John Holmes founded DC Logistics, a Perth-based management consultancy practice specialising in logistics strategy and project management.

Steve MacPherson co-founded Supply Chain Services Australia in 2006, to provide professional services in supply chain and logistics to the Australian market.

DC Logistics and Supply Chain Services Australia merged in 2008. Since then, we have performed hundreds of consultancy assignments for scores of clients, covering a broad spectrum of services and industry sectors

Key Personnel

STEVE MACPHERSON
CO-FOUNDER

Steve MacPherson served in the Defence forces for 20 years, retiring as a senior military logistics officer to take up managerial positions in the private sector. Prior to co-founding Supply Chain Services Australia, Steve was operations manager for a major national retailer, general manager for a transportation services business, and CEO of a hardware wholesaler. Steve is a life member and former Chairman, National President and WA State President of the Supply Chain & Logistics Association of Australia. Steve MacPherson is a highly credentialed supply chain professional, and has very strong experience in supply chain strategy, inventory management, and logistics management.

SUE FINDLAY
CONSULTANT

Sue Findlay has provided specialist consulting services to SCSA clients for the past 10 years in the areas of – supply chain strategy; process improvement; procurement / contract management; tender bid management; and facilitation of training workshops. Sue has consulted to SCSA clients such as – South 32, Roy Hill, Woodside Energy, Venture Smart JV, BHP Iron Ore, BHP Nickel West, UGL / Downer JV and Freo Group. Prior to commencing her consultancy career, Sue was a Director in Dept of Treasury & Finance, responsible for the procurement of ICT solutions and services on a whole of government basis. Sue has also been a sessional lecturer at Curtin University teaching Masters subjects such as Business Performance, Strategic Procurement and Marketing Management.

ANDREW BARNES
ARCHITECTURAL DRAFTSPERSON

Andrew Barnes has provided architectural drafting services for over 30 years in Australia and UK. His career includes roles with Public Works Department WA, Corey Jones Architects (UK), and as a contractor to T&Z Architects, JCY, Hassell and Woodhead. Andrew supports SCSA in the development of AutoCAD and REVIT documentation of industrial design projects, including recently on two large Defence sector projects – Land 121 and Land 4502.

AVI OLENDER
CONSULTANT

With a background in industrial engineering, Avi Olender is a highly credentialed logistics consultant and project manager with significant international experience in designing and project managing warehouses and distribution centres.

With 16 years of real time Supply Chain Management systems development experience, Avi’s duties have included analysis, design, development, modelling, prototyping, research, and systems administration. Warehouse Management Systems applications and implementations have included ORACLE, SAP, BAAN, MICROSOFT NAVISION and many in-house tailor-made packages. Design experience has included a variety of automated and manual storage systems, material handling equipment and staged functional hardware incorporating RF units (scanning/voice), bar-code technologies, workstations and building requirements.
